Not bad!

I like it, and I like your description. If I may make a suggestion? There are some (Free) plugins out there that will simulate a record player, including the hiss and pop / click. I think using that in addition to the equalizer that you have would really play into the effect.

smilingpig67 responds:

Lol thanks for both the suggestion and the review~! :)

O_O

Dude, I don't like rap / hip hop, or the like, but I know SKILL when I hear it. The writing is spot on, the recording is flawless and it is all mixed together fantastically! This is pro quality stuff. You can look at my other reviews, I don't give out 10s very often, especially for a genera I don't particularly like.

I hope you land a record deal if you haven't already. I hear kids running around listening to shit half this good that they paid for, and its sad. Thanks for sharing this.

KidDeception responds:

Thanks man, i really appreciate the Kind words and the Vote. I try my best in everytrack that I do. and Stuff like this motivates me to do more.

Good composition

The actual writing is great. I like the melody, but the execution doesn't do it justice. It feels like the piano is far too dry and not dynamic at all. I don't know what software you use, but if you just tweaked that, I think you'd have a win.

If the piano was re-worked a bit, and you added some fluff for the transitions, this song would be great. If it was just intended to block out an idea, then bravo and I can't wait to hear a more polished version.

yeajimmiboi responds:

Thanks man, yea I made this when after I got Reason 4, it took me ages too get my head around the way things worked on there. Just for you I'm gonna go back and tweak it. :) Thanks for your criticism. :)

"Hello I've come to rob youuuu!"

Wow, this actually was quite funny.
And down with zero bombs. Good luck.

AudioVision responds:

Im glad it was funny!
And yeah. Zerobombs. Something I can't staaaand

Impressive stuff!

This is crazy good for newgrounds, though I'm seeing more and more good stuff here.

I currently use "WST25FStein_00Sep22." That's the actual file name, so you should be able to google it. I don't remember the actual name.

I hope to see more of this stuff, and a weee bit longer.

PianoFortress responds:

thanks, I'll check it out.

Ambient indeed!

I actually quite liked this. At first I was unhappy to hear the beat come in, but it turns out it works, especially with the slicing you've done.

I'd like to see a solo or change up in the middle, and some sort of real ending (fading out is sooo 90's :P) but I'm happy enough to look at more of your stuff.

HungarianSupermarket responds:

Yeaahhhh, cheesy tasteless fade-ins and outs I know. But I figured I better get some feedback before I completely wreck this. And speaking of which, thankyou for that!

I'm likeing this.

I like the feel of this song. Its more opinion than critique, but I feel the drums and piano need some sort of reverb or something to soften them up. They ride a little high on top of the smoothness underneath.

Usernamemyarse responds:

I cant disagree there, But i didnt have much of a choice since the garageband reverb sucks...
Thanks for reviewing!

Um...

Sorry, but if the goal was to produce something both physically and literally painful to listen to, you've achieved it.

This literally reminded me of the songs they loop over and over during SERE school to 'torture' detainees. The majority of the song consists of what I can only assume is an audio clip used without permission from the owner.

LeftHandPunk responds:

Thank you for the 'constructive' criticism. This was a collaborative effort by the author of the poem and I. I'm well aware it is not for eveyone and I am sorry it wasn't for you. Maybe I could work out a Dave Matthews cover to win your heart. Cool anime icon by the way, bro!

Fantastic!

This work is inspiring! And its true, I hear James Horner ALL OVER it, but that's not a bad thing at all. I was originally blown away by James Horner's work on Titanic, and Brave Heart, and hadn't been truly satisfied with his work until Avatar.

I'm curious though. What software are you using, and what plugin or Sound Font do you use for the Stargate SG-1 like chore I hear in this?

Setu-Firestorm responds:

I use the host program Nuendo, but the VSTi's I use for my orchestral work is Edirol Orchestral and EastWest Symphonic Orchestra (mostly for the choir patches and any heavy percussion).

Congratulations!

You've just won the "Best Male VA I've ever heard on Newgounds.com as far as I can remember off the top of my head, but probably so." Award!
FLAWLESS heartfelt delivery, CRYSTAL clear audio recording EVEN WHILE YELLING! I don't know how you do it, but DAMN son, that's some good work.

I'm bookmarking your page for future projects. Thanks for the demo ^_^
